It has gone through many transformations within centuries, gaining its current Renaissance appearance in the first half of 16th century, in the time of economic expansion, when its best-known owner &#8211; \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd &#8211; lived here.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd House underwent a&nbsp;large reconstruction. At present it houses the Centre of T\u0159ebo\u0148 Fishpond Building\u00a0Heritage with a&nbsp;permanent interactive exhibition devoted to fishpond building and above all to the life and work of \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd. The House also provides unique gallery premises. Various cultural events, including lectures and workshops, take place here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone wp-image-109 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dum-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dum-3.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dum-3-300x55.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dum-3-768x140.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/dum-3-1024x187.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>\u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd<\/h2>\n<p>The famous builder and fishpond builder got the house in 1522 by marriage with Dorota Luk\u0161ov\u00e1, a&nbsp;widow of the T\u0159ebo\u0148 scrivener. He was one of the two major personalities who significantly shaped the typical T\u0159ebo\u0148 landscape by their great fishpond building work.<\/p>\n<p>\u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek was born to a&nbsp;servant family in the South Bohemian village of Netolice, presumably around 1460.\u00a0 Not much is known about his youth and education, however, what is known is that at the end of 15th century he became one of the founding fathers of fishpond building. At that time he worked in the services of the ruling Rosenberg family and had successfully finished his first few fishponds. No wonder that he very soon became a&nbsp;fishpond master, the so called \u201cfi\u0161mistr\u201d, and was in charge of building new fishponds as well as fish farming.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone wp-image-103 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/zlata-stoka.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/zlata-stoka.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/zlata-stoka-300x55.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/zlata-stoka-768x140.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/zlata-stoka-1024x187.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>The Ingenious Golden Canal<\/h2>\n<p>During his life \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek built seven larger and more than forty smaller fishponds. However, his best-known work still remains the Golden Canal which he started building at the beginning of 16th century. This more than 45-kilometre long \u201cstr\u00faha\u201c, i.e. \u201cgutter\u201d, (as it was originally called), connects the fishponds of the T\u0159ebo\u0148 system providing them with fresh water. The Canal proves his masterful skills, since its average slope is only 33 centimetres per 1 kilometre of length and in some parts it is even less than 10 centimetres per kilometre \u2013 therefore it may often seem that water is running backwards.<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone wp-image-106 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/stepanek-netolicky.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/stepanek-netolicky.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/stepanek-netolicky-300x55.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/stepanek-netolicky-768x140.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.dumstepankanetolickeho.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/stepanek-netolicky-1024x187.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>New Interactive Exhibicion<\/h2>\n<p>The name of Jakub Kr\u010d\u00edn is widely known, but did you know that it was \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd who ingeniously started to shape the T\u0159ebo\u0148 fishpond landscape only to be followed by the famous Rosenberg regent? In our permanent exhibition you can get to know \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nek Netolick\u00fd and his work in an interesting way. As well as learning how T\u0159ebo\u0148 fishponds were made, you can also watch a&nbsp;short film about the Golden Canal or try working with survey tools once used at fishpond constructions.
